128kb at DEMO Festival 2025
Hi friends!
I will be in the jury of the DEMO Festival again, which is a great honor to me. If you haven’t seen the post two years ago, here’s an impressive throwback to the 2022 edition where I was already involved in the core team.
DEMO 2025 is a europe-wide outdoor exhibition on January 30th 2025, showing finest Motion Design from on thousands of screens. Selected participants willl be invited to the amazing festival on that day, filled with a great program of talks and hundredes of people from the motion design scene.

This year I want to activate and encourage the whole Creative Coding community to participate! I thought it would be fun to counter all the High-Tech visuals with extremely low resolution animations, created within the 128kb framework.
Here’s how it works:
- Create one ore more gif-animations within the 128kb framework (link) with the size of 72 * 128px (9:16)
- Submit your work to 128kb: https://128kb.timrodenbroeker.de/submit/
- Convert the gif to a high-resolution video with this special tool: https://128kb.timrodenbroeker.de/api/
- Upload your work to the DEMO selection via the DEMO website: https://demofestival.com/submit
The deadline is the end of August 2024, so make sure to be quick! I will probably give a talk at the festival day about 128kb and maybe even highlight your submission.
Let’s show the world what’s possible within 128kb!
Tim
