I hope you are all well! I escaped the cold and wet weather in Germany and am now on the Spanish coast in Cubellas. Here I recorded a new session yesterday, again dedicated to “Sketching Strategies”.
The most effective way to learn Creative Coding is to come up with your own experimental project and execute it consistently. This is quite a challenge and raises many conceptual questions. If you don’t create a clear framework for yourself here, the project will most likely end in chaos and thus resignation.
It is very important to understand that willpower is the most important resource in the learning process. The learning curve is particularly steep at the beginning and therefore the risk of giving up is the greatest here. Therefore, the learning process should be as smooth as possible.
The Magic Triangle is a very useful creativity technique that I myself have been using for more than 10 years for almost all of my own projects. It is by no means limited to design, but rather an easy to learn thinking tool for self-initiated projects.
What do you think about it? Do you know of any other models that might be helpful here? As always, I really appreciate your feedback!
I put a lot of love and effort into developing content on Creative Coding. Since 2018, I have published
227 interviews, case studies, and tutorials, along with over
270 lessons in
17 online courses – and there's more to come!
